Is currently packing boxes, and more boxes, as I'll officially move out tomorrow. I got so much stuff...
It sort of surprises me just how many drawings I got. One thing was the stack of old sketch books, but I'd forgotten just how many folders I had filled with drawings as well. Sort of funny to find projects from 2002-2004 in your bookcase. A lot of stuff has been totally forgotten, so I look at it and thinks: I did that?

Anyway, I'll be living with my parents until I find a job I can move after. My parents do have Internet, but their connection isn't super fast. And my own computer will probably be without internet. So until further notice I won't be online as much as I usually am.

After finally realising that my stereo's CD-player is busted (only after living without it for a month) I have embraced Windows Media Player, and is currently copying a bunch of my CDs to the library.
Today's WTF moment... I own a CD with Nirvana that I neither remember buying nor ever hearing. Not that I'm complaining, but... WTF?

This is pretty wild.

Those that has been past my tattoo section on my webcomic will recognise this:

Now look what I just got:



This new girl says that she didn't know the previous tattoos existed, and it would appear that she found me by surfing tattoo pictures running into her doubles. To quote: "I thought it was crazy when I first saw the picture of someone else with them."

I guess the moral of this story is to do research of who has done an illustration you has found online before getting it tattooed on your body. ;) That, and tattoos of my characters are awesome.

I guess I have a lot of pictures going around online without control. That's what happen when you have as generic characters of popular specimens as I do. :/

I called the office of my apartment half an hour ago, to get info on when I in reality must be out of my apartment.
My official date is June the 1st, but depending on where you live, the actual day can be several weeks before that.

I chose the subdepartment dealing with "money and instances after you have moved" which turned out to be a major mistake. After being on hold for 20 minuttes I hang up... Then I called the office again choosing the "department for renting apartments". I got thought instantly there. Argh! 20 minuttes wasted.

Anyway, I have to be out (and my apartment must be approved as clean) before May the 22nd. Nice to know.

I'm currently attending a "get a job" course. It's pretty cool. :)

Our councillor is using coaching and individual guidance, which basically means that he ask each attendant a lot of questions and takes the time to really listen to their answers. Then he asks more questions, and if people don't start to realise things about themself after that, he start to say what it is he has heard. It sounds silly and way too simple, but it actually works.

As a random side note, none of the six other members showing up today (nor the councillor) had heard of LiveJournal. Most of them didn't seem to be part of any web-communities with journals. Makes me feel more geeky than it should. :P

I bought two drawings by Faith Erin Hicks a month ago, and today they arrived in the mail. Stupid mail... They had bend the envelope so the drawings was partly bended too. :(
Luckily it's not too bad, and I decided to save them by putting them in frames to "unbend them" and subsequently hang them on my wall (seeing that's where I usually keep the frames. ;) ).
This was somewhat the end of an era. I've had the same original art hanging in those frames since J-popcon 2003. I had sort of figured I'd keep them there till I moved out, seeing how that's only a few months away, but now I got new art on my walls.

Weird.

I just accessed my online bank, and it would appear that a sandwich restaurant has drawn the same amount from my DanCard/Visa card twice. It's only a small amount (60 dkr), but that can't be right. The nota has the same number, so it's obviously a mistake.

I hope one simple phone call can fix it. And I probably should warn the friends I dined with last Wednesday about checking their accounts as well. :/

Turns out that my tooth was dying. My dentist decided to give it CPR by drilling out part of the center, and sticking needles down into the root canals. The good news is, that my tooth wasn't hurting to much this morning, so the anaesthesia worked. That's apparently not something you can take for granted in situations like this, where the tooth's nerves are acting up a lot. Nothing the dentist did felt nearly as bad as what my tooth did to me yesterday, but then again, I'm still drugged, so let's hear what I think of her when the anaesthesia wears off. ;)

I have a new appointment on Thursday, where she'll continue to clean my roots. It seems to be something that has to be done over several sessions, and she can't say how many yet.
This also means that I don't know how much it'll cost. My dentist's best bid was somewhere in-between 3000 and 6000 dkr... So much for having extra money. ;)

My stupid tooth woke me up at 3 AM, and the pain kept me awake to 5 AM... Urgh! Just make it stop. :(

Edit: Time at the dentist tomorrow at 10.15 AM... She only had that exact same time today, and that would be physically impossible to make in time. 45 minuttes is half the traveling time it usually takes me to get to my dentist.

64 corporations present at the carrierday. 47 of those of interest enough to a visit... That's going to be a very long day. I just hope the meeting with MA earlier the same day will end quickly so I can go.

I need to print a lot and get photos ready tomorrow. And before that I have to finish a good CV to hand out.
I just had a meeting with one of the consultants here, and he found dosins of things to change on my CV/resume. So now it's just a question of getting it improved accordingly. At the least I get service for my payments to them.

My stupid theeth is hurting again. But on the positive side my nose isn't running any more. I hope it was just a fase yesterday. But then again, the members rooms here are freezing. I could get sick again. :/

Dammit! I think I'm getting a cold, and there's a "get a job" carrier day on Wednesday. I plan on studying up on it, showing up knowing which stands and corporations to talk to, handing out cool resumes. Getting a cold now sucks! I really hope I don't get sick. It's bad enough showing up with a running nose. Not being able to show up at all would be really, really annoying.
I've used twenty napkins and consumed three cups of tea this evening. :(

On another note, I bought Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Long Way Home last Wednesday. *droll* Buffy season 8 by Joss Whedon. In cool comic form. My addiction is back. Only problem is that I have to wait for the next trade paperback. :(

OMG! I just realised that at the least one Bella Sara card of the Ancient Light edition is illustrated by Quinton Hoover.

Quinton Hoover!!!

I've been a fan of that guy since I was something near 12. He was my favourite magic the Gathering artist! I even took his magic-cards with me to my students apartment, while leaving all the others at home, because his stuff is so gorgeous. His art has had lasting influence on my own drawing style, and elements in my art can be traced back to the inspiration from his illustrations.

I have illustrations published in the same TCG as Quinton Hoover! In the same deck! *goes into raging fangirl mode*

This is so cool! I'm only one link away from one of my real art idols of all time. *happy happy happy*

Somewhere today after 10 AM (the time the comment e-mail arrive), I got a "very serious" private/hidden message in my guestbook, telling me to e-mail a person about something for "mutual beneficence".

Now, as his guestbook already had one person writing about it in it, I also left a comment mentioning it, in case the guy had contacted several artists but only needed one. This isn't too unusual, and I thought I'd give others a sort of heads up by doing this.
After that I wrote my e-mail telling that I do not make paid work at the moment.

Less than 7 hours later, Elfwood's creator himself has placed a comment on my guestbook, telling me the guy has been deleted for posting the same message in more than 100 guestbooks. The guy has been deleted as a spammer, but I was also warned that this could mean he was trying to pull a scam as well...

This is why I like Elfwood. They actually care about their artists. They go the extra mile to protect them against potential scams and spammers. They may have a lot of rules and long ticket lines. But damn, that's also one of the reasons that they are so good.
Serious members, and serious owners that cares about those members rather than caring about "the money owned by the members". Not to mention a general "be original, please" approach to everything.

First of all... This amuses me: http://community.livejournal.com/bella_sara/ - A Bella Sara LJ community.
It's sometimes hard for me to realise that I have been part of making something that other people actually buy and enjoy. Tripping over stuff like this reminds me that Bella Sara actually got fans. XD And the founder even pointed out one of the horses I have drawn as one of her favourites. ;)

Other than that, I have been following a course for Project Organisation/leading for the last week. And it seems to be pretty useful and will be nice to have on my CV. It'll end 5 weeks from now, so these days I'm reliving my student days with homework.

Today I celebrated early birthday with my family and Peder. :) My parents gave us so much food that we are skipping supper. We're both more than full. XD
I got a new toilet bag (for travelling) from Peder, that probably need to be exchanged, as there seems to be something wrong with the zipper. I'll see if I can get one identical to my gift that's actually working.
My grandparents gave me a special fork and 300 kr.
My parents gave me a lot of candy and 500 kr.
My brother gave me two new books. :D Lene Kaaberbøl: The Shamer Series #2 and 3. (I don't know what they are called in English, as Danish is the original language). Now I only need book 4 to get the entire story. ;)

Anyway, it's been a nice day. I can even giggle at the fact that Para has been peeking in one of my mangas. That's soo not good for his image. ;)

I just realised that I've got my grade. :D

It's 7 on the new Danish scale (8 or 9 on the old) which is the medium grade (C in the US even though the old 9 was called a B+).

This is pretty much what I expected. I would have been disappointed to get less and super happy if I had gotten 10, which is the grade above 7 and the second highest grade. So, 7. Now I just need to wait for my exam papers, and I'm officially done at the university.

My new fancy Staedler Special non-print lead just failed it's test for scanning. It's a very crappy "won't show up in a scanner" alternative. My old blue leads is considerably better.
I don't know how well this would do with a photocopier, but as a scanning alternative it's failing hard. :(

Now, I realise this may give me some rather... Weird things (to say the least), and I don't want links! But... What is the weirdest/strangest/most geeky or WTF fandom you've found on the internet so far? XD

I think my price these days goes to "real life movie-music-composer shippings". No, I kid you not. Crazy little fangirls are slashing people like Danny Elfman and Hans Zimmer, giving them cute little "couple nicknames" made up by part of their names combined, and writing slash fics and drawing fan-images of these pairings. Eventually adding in movie-instructors as well now we're at it...
I can to some extent follow actor-slashing. Especially when they are connected to characters they play. But this fandom just baffle my mind. Did you run out of sexy fictional characters you could pair up, or are you just trying to be extra special by choosing real life people that normally isn't in the actual spotlight?
Also I'm sort of starting to feel sorry for those poor composers that sooner or later are bound to find out that this exist.

To celebrate that I am done with my masters thesis (and to get my drawing skills back after ignoring them for quite some time) I'm declaring this November fanart month. This means that i am open to suggestions on what to draw.

A few guidelines:

  • My muse is fickle. Just because you suggest something doesn't mean that I'll draw it. ;) This is however a good opportunity for you to get me to draw you something.
  • All fanart is welcome. That includes everything that is fanart for me. This means that you are welcome to suggest your original characters from your own stories. Random "draw your version of that character I don't have a name for, and will only be featured in one of my images" suggestions will likely be ignored, though. ;)
  • Feel free to suggest a drawing style and a medium as well. I'm likely to be attracted to the suggestions that I will find inspiring and fun.
  • Bear in mind: Large internet fandoms scares me. I am however only human. If the request is very intriguing or enough people ask for it, I might actually make a fanart anyway. ;)


Some fandoms that it would be easy to convince me about drawing fanart for these days:
Disney's Atlantis, Skydoll, Chrono Crusade, Magical Knight RayEarth and The Sandman.
