Current Mood: artistic
I bought two drawings by Faith Erin Hicks a month ago, and today they arrived in the mail. Stupid mail... They had bend the envelope so the drawings was partly bended too. :(
Luckily it's not too bad, and I decided to save them by putting them in frames to "unbend them" and subsequently hang them on my wall (seeing that's where I usually keep the frames. ;) ).
This was somewhat the end of an era. I've had the same original art hanging in those frames since J-popcon 2003. I had sort of figured I'd keep them there till I moved out, seeing how that's only a few months away, but now I got new art on my walls.

Pictures under cut. )

Mar. 8th, 2008 @ 06:29 pm Native Lights
Seeing how Native Lights are out in the US, I have uploaded my four illustrations to my DeviantArt gallery. You can take a look if you're curious: http://gwennafran.deviantart.com/gallery/#Bella-Sara

And to get ahead of eventual questions:
- No, I was not the one deciding on the names, and I didn't knew them when I made the illustrations.
- Yes, this is the edition where I officially switched over to use soft colouring instead of cell style.

Jan. 21st, 2008 @ 01:55 pm Mod Choice
Yay! http://www.elfwood.com/art/r/i/rikke/golflake.jpg.html

I got a mod choice. XD
Ironically on something different than my usual style. ;)

It's cool though, I'm hoping to collect enough original art Mod choices to outnumber my fanart Mod Choices. :D

Current Mood: working
I've spend quite a lot of the weekend working on drawings for Bella Sara. I hope to have two different linearts with base colours ready to mail tomorrow morning. So far I got the one ready, and is halfway through the linearts for the other.

So many details! I'm hoping to get all those details done from the beginning this time, and avoid getting the images thrown back at me for not being of sufficient quality. It's really crazy how the level has gone up over the last two years.

I took tons of really nice photos of very muscular work-type horses a months ago near my parents. And ironically I haven't used them. Instead I've used two photos I took of the normal horse that kept them company. So ironic, the moment I actually got references for a "jydsk workhorse" and other creatures like that I doesn't need them.

Edit: I just caught myself looking for CTRL+S (save file in Photoshop) while working on my lineart with paper and micro pigment ink marker. This seems to happen every time I make a lot of creative works, and goes from manual to digital mediums and back repeatedly. The worst thing probably is, that the whole save-thing is so automatic that I get disturbed and loose focus, every time I realise that I can't save my drawing.
